GREENWOOD, Ind. – A new version of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team was officially released on Tuesday following the conclusion of the 2015-16 academic year.
The 2015-16 G-MAC Academic All-Conference Team was comprised of a record 507 student-athletes from eight total member institutions while covering 18 championship-sponsored sports.
The first edition of the G-MAC Academic All-Conference Team had 189 student-athletes in 2012-13. The 2013-14 academic listing featured 382 student-athletes and the 2014-15 team included 416 selections.
For the fourth consecutive year, Cedarville University had a conference-leading 106 student-athlete selections while Alderson Broaddus University and Salem International University both tied for second with 68 each.
To be named to the G-MAC Academic All-Conference Team, the student-athlete’s grade point average must be a minimum of 3.30 based on the 4.0 system, the GPA shall be cumulative for the student-athlete’s entire collegiate career and the student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing while completing at least one full academic year at the nominating institution.
In 2015-16, 14 different student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA.
