Cedarville's Koch Meets U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifying Standard Time

STANFORD, Calif. - Carsyn Koch of Cedarville met the U.S. Women's Olympic Trials 800 meter qualifying standard with a 2:02.39 in the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford University.

The Top 32 in the event will be invited to compete in the Trials on July 1-10 in Eugene, Oregon. The qualifying mark is 2:03.0.

Koch's performance is also #1 all-time in NCAA Division II according to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. (SEE LIST). The previous record was set back in 1990 at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The Washburn, Maine native previously had the #3 effort on the DII list of 2:03.58 which she established on April 16 at the Mt. SAC Relays in California.

Koch is the 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Indoor 800 Meter Champion. She was the 2015 outdoor runner-up as a freshman.

She now owns the Top 5 times in Lady Jacket track & field history and six of the top seven.
