CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Cedarville sophomore standout Carsyn Koch is the USTFCCCA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Athlete of the Week as announced Tuesday.
The awards are recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Washburn, Maine, native earned the honor after posting a time of 2:03.58 in the 800 meters to win her heat in the elite division at the Mt. SAC Relays in Norwalk, Calif., on April 16.
Koch's time took nearly two seconds off of her school record and is the third-fastest in Division II history.
As a matter of fact, she is the first DII woman to ever run a sub-2:04 prior to the NCAA Championship.
Koch has the #1 time in Division II so far this spring and is #7 among all collegians in 2016.
She won the DII indoor 800 title in March and was the 2015 outdoor national runner-up.
