GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville sophomore middle distance runner Daniel Michalski was named the fifth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week on Monday. 

Michalski traveled with a select group of teammates to the Mt. SAC Relays held in Walnut, Calif., at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
 
Michalski competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase run, clocking a provisional qualifying time as he aims for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in Bradenton, Fla.
 
He finished with a time of 8:59.63 in a field of 36 total competitors. He topped runners from Arkansas, Arizona State, North Florida and several other Division I schools.
 
A total of nine NCAA Division II student-athletes posted provisional-qualifying times in the event.
 
Hilmer Lodge Stadium has served as the site of two Olympic Track & Field Trials and has been home to 20 different world records.
