GREENWOOD, Ind. – Trevecca Nazarene sophomore distance runner Caroline Hampton was named the fourth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for 2016 on Monday.

Hampton and the Trojans continued their outdoor season as they went on compete at the Bellarmine Invitational as difficult weather conditions plagued the Midwest Region over the weekend.

This is Hampton’s first honor as being G-MAC Athlete of the Week for outdoor season, but is no stranger to the title for the indoor campaign where she previously won the title twice in the 2015 season.

She was also named the G-MAC Indoor Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Year by the coaches. Hampton’s decorated resume includes a two-time G-MAC Women’s Cross Country champion as well as NCAA Championship qualifier.

Hampton competed in the 5,000-meter race where she placed second overall against 25 other runners with a time of 17:25.76.

She holds the two top records in the G-MAC in the 5K all-time, with her most recent time placing her second between her two other times recorded.

The Trojans look to this weekend as they prepare for the Austin Peay Invitational in Clarksville, Tenn.
