GREENWOOD, Ind. - Alderson Broaddus freshman thrower Christopher Stump was named the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for 2016 on Monday.

Stump and the Battlers had an impressive showing during their spring outdoor debut at the Charleston Golden Eagle Invitational.

AB finished fourth of seven in the team standings.

Stump placed in the top six in three different throwing events, including third in the discus (38.06m). He also placed fifth in the hammer throw and sixth in shot put.
