GREENWOOD, Ind. – Trevecca Nazarene junior Alexa Rippy has been named the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week for the spring season on Tuesday.

Rippy and the Trojans were able to compete in two different tournaments to begin the spring and the NCAA qualifier/G-MAC individual champion picked up right where she left off in the fall.

She became the first TNU women’s golfer to record a round of under par -- and she pulled of the feat twice.

Rippy shined at the Lake View Skyhawk Invitational and the Perry Park Spring Fling with two more impressive individual finishes.

Rippy won medalist honors at the Lake View Skyhawk Invitational, marking the fifth tournament she has finished first in her career. The Trojans would finish second as a team out of 14 schools in attendance.

She recorded another top-10 effort at the Perry Park Spring Fling hosted by Lewis, placing seventh overall.

The first round of under par Rippy carded was a 71 in the first round of the Lake View Skyhawk Invitational. She bettered that score by one stroke with a 70 (-2) in the third and final round of the Perry Park Spring Fling.
