G-MAC Softball Athletes of the Week (March 21)

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville sophomore outfielder Danielle Wolgamot and Trevecca Nazarene senior pitcher Haley Fagan were named as the eighth set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Both respective schools began the conference schedule over the past week. The Trojans won a four-game G-MAC homestand against Salem International while Cedarville prevailed in a weather-shortened series vs. Alderson Broaddus.

For the 12th time in her distinguished career and third time already this spring, Fagan was the league’s pick for weekly pitching honors.

The dominance continued for Fagan in the circle with four more winning decisions in as many games against Salem International.

She threw a total of 21.1 innings and struck out 27 hitters while giving up just one run for a paltry 0.33 ERA. 

She only walked five in conference action and the Trojans managed to outscore the Tigers, 29-4, in their first G-MAC series.

In the final game of the series, Fagan threw a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts.

Wolgamot did a little of everything as the Yellow Jackets raced out to a 2-0 start in the G-MAC standings against Alderson Broaddus.

She belted a walk-off three-run home run in extras in the first game before helping her own cause at the plate in the circle with a complete-game win.

Wolgamot snapped a 5-5 tie deep into extras against the Battlers with the game-winning blast, her third homer of the spring to send the Yellow Jackets to an 8-5 win.

She doubles as a pitching threat and improved to 2-1 on the year while going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate in game two vs. AB.

This season, she leads all Cedarville hitters with a .362 average in 20 games played. She has a team-leading 12 RBI.
