GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville sophomore middle-distance runner Carsyn Koch was named the sixth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the indoor season on Monday.
 
Koch provisionally for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in her third separate event at Cedarville’s own hosted invitational on Saturday.
 
Koch has now provisionally qualified for nationals in the mile, the 800-meter run and most recently, the 400-meter dash.
 
It marked her second conference weekly honor for the current indoor season.
 
Not only did Koch set a new indoor conference record in the 400-meter distance on Saturday, she also set the new standard in the 400 and 800 in the meet's history.
 
Koch finished first in the 400-meter dash with an adjusted time of 56.60. She also won the 800-meter run.
 
Koch edged out the 56.99 clocked by Tori Abdul (Ursuline) ran at last year’s inaugural indoor conference meet.  She currently has the G-MAC’s best time this season in the 400, 800 and mile.
 
The Yellow Jackets finished second in the 10-team field only behind Wright State with 17 events scored.
