GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ursuline junior infielder/outfielder Brigitte Snow and freshman pitcher Sadie Jones were named as the second set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Athletes of the Week on Monday.
The Arrows opened their spring at the Eckerd Softball Invitational in Clearwater, Fla., at the Eddie C. Moore Complex. Ursuline faced four consecutive Sunshine State Conference opponents before two games were wiped out by heavy rain.
Ursuline went 2-2 against some of the SSC’s best and collected wins against host Eckerd and Nova Southeastern on a neutral field.

Jones carried a considerable amount of the pitching burden to begin the spring, and the start of a promising collegiate career.
The freshman pitched in all four games and made two starts, combining for 13 innings and a more-than-respectable 2.69 ERA.
She earned her first winning decision in the circle against Eckerd, tossing six innings in a 5-4 win.
Jones also started against Saint Leo to finish out Ursuline’s Florida trip, allowing just one run on four hits in four strong innings pitched.
On offense, Jones helped her own cause contributed with two hits, including her first RBI and double. Her RBI single with two outs in the top of the sixth inning capped a five-run inning for the Arrows.
Ursuline went into the sixth innings trailing 3-0 to the Tritons.
In 13 innings, she gave up five earned runs on 17 hits and walked three. She struck out two and finished the weekend with a 1-1 record.

Snow started all four games for the Arrows, including three at shortstop and one game in the outfield.
She had three consecutive multi-hit games and went on to construct a 6-for-13 line with a .462 batting average in the first week of the season.
The strong .462 also matched her on-base percentage and slugging percentage in the four combined games.
Snow recorded two hits vs. Tampa, Eckerd and Nova Southeastern. She scored two runs and recorded an RBI.
