Despite the Trojans suffering a game-one setback, head coach Ben Tyree wasn’t afraid to call her number again in the finale in relief of Sammie Jo Ivy.
Powell spun together a perfect 1.2 innings to protect a 4-3 TNU advantage and seal the winning decision for Ivy.
The Trojans offense picked Powell up with eight unanswered runs down the stretch, including a game-ending grand slam from Jordan Griner. She would retire all five batters she faced in order.

In the opener, Andrews slugged the team’s first home run of the season in the top of the fourth inning after Alex Richardson led off the frame with a single.
Batting cleanup again in game two, Andrews doubled, homered and had an RBI single in her final three plate appearances.
