Craig Griffith Named G-MAC Supervisor of Football Officials

INDIANAPOLIS – Great Midwest Athletic Conference Commissioner Tom Daeger has named Craig Griffith the league’s first supervisor of football officials in an official release on Monday, December 5, 2016.
 
Griffith will step into the role for the 2017 season and provide the conference supervision of the G-MAC football officiating crews, including hiring, assigning, training and evaluation.
 
"The G-MAC is pleased to secure Craig's services as the Supervisor of Football Officials," stated Daeger. "Craig's passion and experience will assure the G-MAC is establishing a strong, professional, and experienced Division II officiating program in the Conference."
 
The G-MAC is getting ready for a new year that will feature eight schools, including reigning champion Alderson Broaddus, Kentucky Wesleyan, Malone, along with new institutions Findlay, Hillsdale, Lake Erie, Ohio Dominican and Walsh.
 
Griffith brings extensive officiating experience to the table in the sports of football, basketball and volleyball, all ranging from the high school, college and professional ranks.
 
He has worked on crews in the NCAA Division III and NAIA playoffs and was at the NCAA Division I level for a decade working in various bowl games, including the Cotton Bowl, Emerald Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl, Poinsettia Bowl and Insight.com Bowl.
 
Two years, ago, he was named the 2014 Arena Football League Official of the Year and served a five-year stint in the AFL with postseason contests included for each season.
 
His credentials also include serving as the lead instructor of the Ohio NFL Football Officiating Academy and serving several regional conferences as a film grader, including the Presidents Athletic Conference and Ohio Athletic Conference.
 
The G-MAC completed its inaugural season in 2016 with an official champion and winner of the second G-MAC Founders Cup Game trophy also determined.
