INDIANAPOLIS – Ursuline’s sophomore Janelle Perry and junior Kayla Cool were named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Perry and Cool both left their marks in respective events at the Kent State Golden Flash Gala, the Arrows’ second event of the indoor season.
Perry shined in the pentathlon to be the G-MAC Track Athlete of the Week, chalking up NCAA Division II’s eighth-best point total of the current season with 3,502 points to provisionally qualify for the national indoor meet.
She posted a provisional-qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles with an 8.83, also a top-10 time in G-MAC history.
She also placed fifth in high jump, tying for 10th all-time in conference history. Perry won the long jump and finished fourth in both the shot put and 800-meter run.

On her sixth and final attempt of the triple jump, Cool recorded a distance of 10.88 meters, the fourth-best distance in the event in G-MAC history. She would finish sixth in that event and also posted a 4.86m in the long jump to be the G-MAC Field Athlete of the Week.
