INDIANAPOLIS - As the regular season winds down to a close, Cedarville's senior setter Kristin Cardwell earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Athlete of the Week honors on Monday.

Cardwell's contributions were vital as the Yellow Jackets (22-7, 9-1 G-MAC) continue to build steam for the upcoming postseason.

Cedarville appeared in the first set of NCAA Midwest Region Rankings at No. 6 and have built a resume to keep climbing as winners of six straight.

This year's G-MAC Championship will be held once again in Mason, Ohio, and despite being winners of the trophy in three of the past four years, the Yellow Jackets are aiming to reclaim the title this season.

Cardwell averaged almost 12 assists and two digs per set while Cedarville swept West Virginia league opponents Ohio Valley, Davis & Elkins and Alderson Broaddus in short order this past week.

At 10.11 assists per set on the year, Cardwell leads the G-MAC and has also emerged as the conference's all-time leader in that category.

Since her career began, Cardwell has accumulated 3,169 total assists and counting in 482 total sets. She is also tops in sets played and tied for fourth in matches played with 133.
