NASHVILLE, Tenn.
– On the day of two semifinal postseason contests, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer All-Conference Team was announced by the league on Thursday.

On site at Trevecca Nazarene’s Tarter Student-Activities Center, the first team awards brunch was conducted as all-conference honorees were recognized in front of their peers.

A total of 27 student-athletes were on this year’s all-conference team. The final four teams remaining in the tournament bracket (TNU, Ursuline, Davis & Elkins, Malone) were able to celebrate their accomplishments in the regular season together.

Coaches Meghan Gill (D&E), Josh Jones (Malone), Mark Foster (TNU) and Jason Kubbins (Ursuline) were also able to speak on behalf of their team’s successes on the season to date.

Ursuline led all teams with eight different student-athletes represented on the final ballot, including four on the first team and three more on the second team. Regular-season champ and top seeded Trevecca Nazarene had five total selections.

Individual award winners were also presented with G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year, G-MAC Defensive Player of the Year, G-MAC Freshman of the Year and G-MAC Coach of the Year.

All voting was conducted by the league’s coaches.

Similar to the clean sweep of awards that Davis & Elkins’ Katrina Giantsopoulos received in 2015, Ursuline’s Jill Bohling (Darmstadt, Germany) duplicated the same feat with G-MAC Freshman of the Year and G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year in addition to being named to the first team and all-freshman team.

Bohling, finished her first season at the collegiate level ranking second in the league in points with 27 and tied for second in goals scored with 11.

She also ranked second in assists with five as her playmaking helped the Arrows secure the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye to begin the postseason. Bohling was also a two-time winner of G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week this fall.

The G-MAC Defensive Player of the Year was presented to Cedarville senior keeper Hanna Harris (Danville, PA). Harris started all 14 matches and recorded five shutouts and limited opponents to a 1.15 goals against average.

Harris is the G-MAC’s all-time career leader in shutouts with 29 and ranks second in career wins with 45. Her 291 career saves also ranks third all-time in league history.

After leading the Trojans to home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, a 13-4-1 overall record and an 11-3-0 league mark, TNU’s Mark Foster was named the G-MAC Coach of the Year by his peers.

Foster’s Trojans were stingy defensively as team league leaders with in goals allowed (11),  goals against average (0.61) and shutouts with 11.
