INDIANAPOLIS - Ursuline redshirt junior forward Laney Lewis was named as the USBWA Division II National Player of the Week for the for week ending November 27.

Lewis averaged 26.0 points per game last week in a pair of games to go along with 16.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 3.5 blocks per game. Lewis shot 66 percent from the field and was also named the G-MAC Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

In six games this season, Lewis has posted a double-double in each game, which is also tied for the most in the NCAA this season. Her 15.5 rebounds per game also leads all of NCAA Division II.

In an 89-71 win over Lake Erie, Lewis was two assists shy of a triple-double for the second time this season as she had 24 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists. Against No. 5-ranked California University of Pennsylvania on Sunday, she posted a career-best 28 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in an 82-73 loss.

The Arrows are off to a 4-2 start with both losses being to teams that were in the NCAA tournament last season.

Lewis is the second Arrow ever to win the award after junior Camryn Hill won the same honor last season. They are also the only two women's basketball players in G-MAC history to win the national award.

Ursuline will travel to Seton Hill University on Wednesday to take on the 4-1 Griffins in a non-conference game. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
