INDIANAPOLIS – Kentucky Wesleyan senior guard Jordan Jacks was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Jacks and the Panthers enjoyed a 3-0 stint over the Thanksgiving holiday, beating Kentucky State, Winona State and incoming G-MAC member Hillsdale, in the last seven days.
Jacks, a strong, left-handed all-around scoring threat, averaged 18.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 59 percent from the field in all three contests combined.
He opened up the week with a double-double against Kentucky State on Tuesday. Jacks scored 19 points and pulled in 12 boards, including five offensive, to help down the Thorobreds.
Against Winona State, Jacks finished with 20 points seven boards on 6-of-9 shooting. He posted 17 points and nine rebounds versus Hillsdale.
Jacks also averaged 2.7 assists and was 15-of-18 from the charity stripe last week.
KWC is off to a 5-2 start early in the season. Jacks is averaging 17.3 points and 8.1 rebounds so far, good for a rank of third in the conference in both categories.
