INDIANAPOLIS - Trevecca Nazarene junior Sophie Callis and Kentucky Wesleyan freshman Madallyn Peveler were named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan both recorded shutouts against common opponents, Ohio Valley and Cedarville, as the regular season gets ready to conclude tomorrow.

The Trojans are battling for the No. 1 overall seed, home field advantage and hosting responsibilities while the Panthers have won four straight to head into the postseason with momentum on their side.

Peveler impacted the Kentucky Wesleyan wins vs. Ohio Valley and Cedarville by finding her way into the score sheet in both contests. She recorded a total of three points.

She scored in the 35th minute against Cedarville, giving the Panthers a 2-0 edge at the time.

She also assisted the game winner against Ohio Valley after Kelsey Humphries delivered the game's only goal in the 40th minute of regulation.

The Panthers are now 6-5-2 in the conference schedule and in the midst of their four-game win streak, have beaten Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins on the road and blanked Cedarville and Ohio Valley at home.

For the second time this year, Callis has earned G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

This time, the Trojans locked down Cedarville and Ohio Valley for the team's 10th and 11th shutouts of the season.

Trevecca Nazarene heads into tomorrow's regular-season finale with a two-point edge over Ursuline and at 12-4-1 overall, are on pace to construct one of the best single season records in league history.

Callis scored the game's only goal against Cedarville and helped TNU tie the school's second-best mark for wins in a single season with 12. The 10 wins in league play are a Trevecca Nazarene record.
