INDIANAPOLIS - Davis & Elkins freshman David Magda was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.

Magda recorded the fastest time in the 8K distance around the league at the Royals XC Challenge hosted by Queens University in Charlotte, N.C.

In a deep field with 366 runners and more nationally/regionally-ranked teams, Magda finished 17th overall with a 25:10.30.

His time also holds up to 15th best in conference history dating back to 2012.

Davis & Elkins finished sixth as a team and the Senators recorded plenty of PR's. Following another impressive team performance, D&E has forced its way into the conversation as a serious contender at the G-MAC Championships later this month.
