G-MAC Football Players of the Week (Oct. 10)

INDIANAPOLIS - With the first-ever league game in the books, Great Midwest Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week were announced for the sixth week of the season on Monday.

Alderson Broaddus defeated Malone in the G-MAC's first conference contest while Kentucky Wesleyan went on the road to take on Division I FCS opponent Northwestern State.

Jones was the workhouse as the Battlers controlled the line of scrimmage and established the run game against Malone in a historic G-MAC contest.

After scoring three touchdowns in week five vs. Fort Valley State, Jones carried the ball 40 times for 230 yards, both single-game conference records in the league's young history of the sport.

Jones also caught four passes for 36 yards. He reeled off a 39-yard dash on his first touch of the game and averaged almost six yards per carry to wear down the Pioneers' defense.

Jones scored his fifth rushing touchdown to cap a 12-play, 84-yard scoring drive in the first quarter. Through five games this year, he has 651 yards and an average of 130.2 yards per game this season.

G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week

Correll was all over the field as he collected a G-MAC single-game record 19 tackles against Alderson Broaddus.

His effort is tied for the fourth most in all of Division II for a single game. Correll also had one trackle for a loss.

The 11 solo tackles also represent a G-MAC best this season. He now has 32 tackles on the season.

For the second week in a row, Schiefelbein earned weekly conference honors for his impact in the kicking game.

Schiefelbein cashed in on five consecutive extra points to help put away Malone and averaged 55 yards on six kickoff attempts to go with one touchback.

Schiefelbein is a perfect 10-for-10 on PAT's this season.
