GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville sophomore Carsyn Koch was named the fourth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the indoor season on Monday.

Koch and the Yellow Jackets traveled to Youngstown, Ohio, to compete in the Youngstown State Invitational on Friday.

Koch provisionally qualified in the mile and emerged from the invitational with a time that landed her a new record in the conference and the fifth-best mark in school history.

With Koch’s time of 4:59.50 in the mile event, she set a new conference record while beating teammate Olivia Esbenshade’s time of 5:04.50 last year at the G-MAC Indoor Championship.

Cedarville continues the indoor season with the Spire Midwest Open on Friday, January 29, in Geneva, Ohio.
