GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ursuline freshman Janelle Perry was named the third Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the indoor season on Monday.

Perry, also a student-athlete in the Arrows’ volleyball program, continued to quietly emerge in her rookie season at the Grand Valley State-hosted Bob Eubanks Open.

She produced recent efforts that resulted in the G-MAC’s current season-best times in the 60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles and long jump.

Perry streaked to a time of 8.26 seconds in the 60-meter dash in Michigan while crossing the line in 9.41 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.

Perry ran the 200-meter dash in 26.98 seconds and jumped 5.09 meters on her first attempt in the long jump competition.

She finished 15th in the long jump in a field with the majority of competitors hailing from the Division I level.

Perry is the second straight Ursuline track athlete to receive conference weekly honors following the selection of Adaobi Mgdobille.
