GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville senior guard Kaysie Brittenham was named the ninth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for 2015-16 on Monday. 

This is Brittenham’s second career G-MAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week honor after receiving the same recognition last year in November.

With first-place implications in the conference on the line Saturday at Ursuline, the Yellow Jackets rose to the occasion and took control of the driver’s seat with a crucial road win in Pepper Pike.

Cedarville additionally beat Wilberforce in an early-week non-conference tilt while improving to 13-5 overall and maintaining a clean 5-0 record in the G-MAC.

The Yellow Jackets are currently on a six-game winning streak as they prepare for a three-game homestand.

With the decisive outcome well in hand, Brittenham scored 10 points in 23 minutes against Wilberforce. The Yellow Jackets held a 17-point advantage at the end of the first quarter and led by as many as 44 down the stretch. 

On a bigger stage, Brittenham stepped up with a team-high 19 points against Ursuline. She was 7-of-14 from the field and hit four of her team’s 10 three-pointers. 

Brittenham also pulled in five rebounds and dished out five assists. She added a block and two steals.

The Yellow Jackets and Arrows entered Saturday’s long-anticipated showdown as the two top teams in the conference standings, respectively.

In 18 games, Brittenham is averaging 10.7 points per game. She ranks eighth in the league in assists per game (2.7) and is tied for second in total steals with 41.
