GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville senior forward Jacoby Ziegler was named the fourth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for the fall on Monday.
This is the second time Ziegler, the league’s 2012 and 2013 offensive player of the year, has been tabbed for G-MAC weekly accolades this fall.
Ziegler erupted for four goals in a short amount of time against Kentucky Wesleyan and was credited with the game-tying assist to help salvage a double-overtime draw against Trevecca Nazarene.
Versus the Panthers, Ziegler blitzed the KWC defense for a hat trick in just over six minutes. Her fourth goal of the game in the 36th minute of regulation gave the Yellow Jackets a 6-0 cushion.
Cedarville fought back for the 110-minute double-overtime draw against TNU as Ziegler assisted Grace Miorelli’s equalizer late in the second half.
The Yellow Jackets are third in the conference standings at 3-1-1 while assembling a 5-2-1 overall record.
On the year, Ziegler has nine goals and four assists to account for 22 total points.
Cedarville’s upcoming week features a showdown at G-MAC-leading Ursuline on Thursday and a non-conference matchup on Saturday against Rio Grande.
