GREENWOOD, Ind.
– The Great Midwest Athletic Conference continues to be represented by Alderson Broaddus and Cedarville in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) new Midwest Region poll.
 
In the Midwest Region, Alderson Broaddus (5-0-1, 2-0-0 G-MAC) is ranked fourth while Cedarville (5-1-1, 3-0-0 G-MAC) is one spot behind at fifth.
 
Both the Battlers and Yellow Jackets moved up a week after being fifth and sixth, respectively.
 
Alderson Broaddus beat Mercyhurst in the past week while Cedarville had a double-overtime draw against No. 16 Tiffin and blanked Davis & Elkins.
 
Both Alderson Broaddus and Cedarville are unbeaten at the top of the G-MAC standings. They are scheduled to face each other for the first time on Oct. 3 in Cedarville.
 
The Battlers also gained ground towards breaking into the NSCAA Top-25 Coaches Poll, receiving two votes along with Lincoln Memorial, Cal-State Stanislaus and Lynn in the newest release.
 
The NSCAA regional rankings are not affiliated with the NCAA regional rankings, which determine qualification for the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship.
 
The first NCAA regional men’s soccer ranking will be published for release on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
