PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Ursuline College has named Daniel Tutskey its new head track and field coach, Athletic Director Cindy McKnight announced Friday (August 14) afternoon.
Most recently, Tutskey was an assistant women's track and field coach at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. During his tenure, North Central won six College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) championships. He coached seven Cardinals to NCAA Division III All-America status and eight NCAA Division III National Championship qualifiers.
In addition to his track and field experience, Tutskey coached cross country for the past two seasons. He was on the staff when the 2014 team won the CCIW title and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships.
He began coaching in 2004 at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois before working with high school athletes at Plainfield East High School from late 2008 through the 2012 spring season.
During his days as an undergraduate competitor, Tutskey was a nine-time All-American and captained the team that won the NCAA Division III national title both indoors and out in 2001-02. He also qualified for the USA Track & Field (USATF) Outdoor Championships in the 100 meter dash in 2002 and 2003, as well as the USATF Indoor Championships in the 60 meter dash in 2006. Tutskey ranked 48th in the United States in the 100 meter dash in 2003 with a time of 10.34 seconds.
Tutskey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2003 and recently earned his Master's in Sports Leadership Studies from North Central College.
