ELKINS, W.Va. – Director of Athletics, Jamie Joss, announced Friday Kylie Carrington as the new head coach of the Davis & Elkins volleyball program.

"We found Kylie Carrington after a several-week national search, and are delighted to welcome her as our next volleyball coach," Joss said.  "She played the game at a very high level, earning All-American honors as a setter playing for a very successful and respected head coach Peter Letourneau at Frostburg State University and then added coaching experience under her mentor at California (Pa.)."

"I look forward to joining the Davis & Elkins College family, and working with such a committed, talented, and passionate group of young ladies," Carrington said. "With those three characteristics I believe we can have a great volleyball program!"

After earning her Master's degree, Carrington spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the California (Pa.) volleyball team.

As a player, Carrington was one of three All-Americans in the 21-year history of Frostburg State's volleyball program.  She was a four-time all-conference selection, and graduated as FSU's all-time leader in assists with 4,556. She accounted for the fourth, fifth and sixth best single-season assist performances in program history.

In Carrington's four seasons at Frostburg, the Bobcats won three conference tournament titles, two regular season titles and had three NCAA Tournament appearances—including a trip to the Sweet 16 during her junior season.

"Coaching hires are about finding great people who will impact the student-athletes on and off the court modeling integrity, character, commitment to excellence, and life after the game," Joss added. "Kylie personifies this as a coach who will bring a positive and enthusiastic environment to the program, but will also challenge the student-athletes to maximize their potential academically and athletically."

Carrington earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Frostburg State University and received a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania.
