GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville’s David Yoder and Ursuline’s Nicole Burlinson were each voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Capital One Academic All-America Track & Field Team.
Yoder, a senior, earned a second-team selection while Burlinson, a junior, was placed on the third team to represent the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).
Yoder, a native of Bluffton, Ohio, who graduated with a biology/pre-medicine degree in May, earned a spot on the second team. He was one of only five student-athletes among the 46 listed on the first, second, or third teams to have a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.
Yoder helped Cedarville to win both the G-MAC indoor and outdoor track & field titles in 2015. He was a member of the winning 4 x 400 meter relay units in each meet.
Academically, Yoder was a Dean's Honor List student in every semester. He was presented CU's Faculty Scholarship Award for achieving a perfect GPA in biology.
Injuries forced Burlinson to miss the 2015 outdoor season but the two-time All-American had a strong indoor campaign. She has a 3.76 GPA and is studying sports management.
Burlinson helped UC capture the 2014-15 G-MAC Indoor Track and Field title and ran the best time of any student-athlete in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in the 800 (2:12.48) that qualified her for the 2014-15 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.
