ALLENDALE, Mich. – Ursuline’s Bea Indurain and Cedarville’s Carsyn Koch both achieved All-American status at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Grand Valley State over the weekend.
Indurain earned All-American honors by taking fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday (May 23) afternoon.
She ran a 13.83 on Saturday and holds the school record in that event with a 13.70 at the Ashland University Alumni Open on April 25th.
Indurain, who graduated from Ursuline College on May 15 and earlier this week was named an Academic All-District performer, was the G-MAC Track Athlete of the Year during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
A second team All-American after the indoor season, Indurain leaves Ursuline as the program's record holder in 10 individual events.
Koch, the G-MAC’s Outdoor Freshman of the Year, culminated a phenomenal rookie campaign by finishing runner-up in the 800-meter run.
She was less than three seconds off the pace of Simon Fraser’s Lindsey Butterworth and Koch crossed the finish line in 2:05.21. Koch shattered her own school record in the semifinals and saved her best for last in the finals.
Cedarville’s Benjamin Tuttle (10K) and James Blackwell (pole vault) also competed to represent their institutions and the league at the national outdoor meet.
