GREENWOOD, Ind. - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Darin Gooch of Central State University and Carsyn Koch of Cedarville University the Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Darin Gooch has been named the Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Tiger Invitational at Wittenberg University.
Gooch posted three top finishes, including a third place finish in the long jump, second place in the 4x100m relay by only .02 seconds, and posted the fastest 100m prelim time, but sat out the finals.
More impressive was that his three marks all were top times/distances in conference this season. His 10.95 second run in the 100m dash was the best mark so far this season. As a member of the 4x100 relay, Gooch and teammates posted a conference low time of 42.87 seconds. Lastly, his jump of 6.54m was a season best in the G-MAC.

Women’s Track and Field: Athlete of the Week

Carsyn Koch has been named the Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the second time during the outdoor season, and fourth time during the Indoor and Outdoor seasons combined.
This past weekend at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational, she collected a pair of first place finishes in the 400m run and the 1,500m run. She won the 400 in 55.74 seconds and took the 1,500 in 4:33.27.
More impressively, she reached the NCAA DII provisional qualification mark in both events. She has now met the NCAA DII provisional marks in the 400m, 800m, and 1,500 m events so far this spring.
