GREENWOOD, Ind. – After sandwiching 12 games into a busy schedule this past week, Cedarville’s freshman combo of Emily Cornish and Brianne O’Dell were both presented with Great Midwest Athletic Conference weekly honors on Monday.
Cornish spun together a pair of complete games while O’Dell hit at a near-.400 clip while flashing power numbers and being a run producer in the Lady Jackets lineup.

The true freshman logged a total of 23 innings while posting a 2.43 ERA and earning a pair of winning decisions. Cornish handcuffed Lake Erie and Lock Haven in successive days, giving up just five hits in each outing.
Versus Lake Erie, Cornish yielded just one earned run and walked just one while striking one hitter out.
Her numbers were nearly identical against Lock Haven and she was able to retire three more batters on strikes.
Cornish had additional game action against Grand Valley State, Southern New Hampshire and Quincy.
On the week, she gave up 10 runs on 25 hits while striking out six.

O’Dell rapped out nine hits this past week to the tune of a .394 batting average with three doubles and a home run.
Her first career homer was drilled against Lake Erie as she went 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI and the run scored. Earlier in the day, she was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate against Wilmington and had a five-game hitting streak sustained.
After doubling against Wilmington, she had another double against Walsh and also drove in three runs in Cedarville’s effort. Her other double came against Quincy towards the end of the team’s trip.
On the season, O’Dell is hitting .357 through 15 games. She has started each one and has four doubles, a triple and a home run, while scoring eight times and plating 13 runs.
