Kaci Britt Bell has been named the regular-season’s final G-MAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week as she helped her team secure the second seed and a first round bye in the upcoming G-MAC Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Bell, who is being named Athlete of the Week for the third time this season, averaged 19 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, and a pair of assists in TNU’s victories over Ohio Valley and Salem International.
In the team’s first game of the week against OVU, Bell became the school’s first 1,000 point scorer as an active NCAA Division II institution. She followed up that performance by posting 16 points and four steals against Salem in the regular-season finale, wrapping up the second seed for the Lady Trojans. The team will enter the semifinals and face the winner of Kentucky Wesleyan and Ursuline College quarterfinal match-up.
Bell finishes the regular-season ranked tenth in scoring in conference with 12.2 points per game. The senior also averaged nearly seven rebounds a game and just over two steals, which places her sixth and third in the conference, respectively.
