Kayla Linkous continues hot streak with third AOTW honor

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Kayla Linkous has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the third time this season and in the last five weeks, tying teammate Raegan Ryan for the league lead.

Kayla Linkous has been named the G-MAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for a league lead tying third time this season, all coming in the last five weeks. Linkous and teammate Raegan Ryan have each won the honor three times - both winning it in a span of five weeks.
 
This past week, Linkous helped guide Cedarville to a pair of wins in conference action as the Lady Jackets remain undefeated in the G-MAC. On the week, the junior forward scored 17.5 points and grabbed 11 rebounds per game.
 
Against Alderson Broaddus, she scored 17 points on 8-9 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds in 24 minutes of action. Two nights later against Davis & Elkins, she scored 18 points on 7-10 shooting, including making good on both of her three point attempts. She also had a game-high 13 rebounds as CU held a lopsided rebounding advantage of 42-29.
 
On the season, Linkous continues to climb the scoring leaderboard, ranking fifth with 13.7 points per game. She also ranks third on the field goal shooting list, posting a 53.8% shooting percentage, while attempting 84 more shots than the leader and 62 more shots than second place.
