GREENWOOD, Ind. – The No. 25 Cedarville women’s basketball program officially secured the hosting rights to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship tournament and at least a share of the regular-season title following Monday’s result.
The Lady Jackets, also ranked 10th in the Midwest Region, earned the top seed and will host the G-MAC Women’s Basketball Championship on March 5-7 in the Callan Athletic Center.
Five other teams will punch their ticket to the conference tournament along with Cedarville.
Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan have already secured their spot for the postseason while competition for the remaining three bids will be fierce during the final week of the regular season. Cedarville can secure the regular-season title outright with a win this weekend, or by the Trojans falling in one of their final two games this season.
Cedarville has been ranked as high as 23rd nationally in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Top-25 Poll this year and had assembled an 11-game win streak.
The Lady Jackets are sporting a current 24-3 record and have been near-perfect in the conference schedule at 14-1. CU will play its final regular-season league game on Thursday for Senior Night against Ursuline.
The G-MAC women’s tournament bracket will be finalized by the conference office and be made available to the public when the regular season concludes. G-MACsports.com will also provide an in-depth preview of the matchups.
Video and audio is projected to be streamed for all conference tournament games in Cedarville along with live stats.
