NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Regional Rankings
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The nationally rated Cedarville women’s basketball program broke through the first series of regional rankings announced Wednesday afternoon, showing at 10th in the Midwest Region.
The Lady Jackets shifted to No. 25 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Division II Poll that was released Tuesday, but on the strength of sporting a 19-3 in-region record, Cedarville caught the attention of the advisory committee.
Cedarville currently has a 22-3 overall record and has its sights set on the regular-season conference title with a 12-1 mark in G-MAC play.
The Midwest Region is additionally comprised of teams from Great Lakes Valley Conference and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
Eighth-ranked Michigan Tech and No. 2 Lewis headline the top two teams in the Midwest Region rankings.
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference does not have an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championships this year.
Cedarville would need to qualify as an at-large selection as one of the top eight teams in the Midwest Region.
