GREENWOOD, Ind. – Trevecca Nazarene senior Anna Hoffman was named the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the indoor season on Monday.
Hoffman and the Trojans were the only non-NCAA Division I school to compete in the Vanderbilt Indoor Opener on Saturday.
The two-sport standout was coming off an award-laden soccer season after being named to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region Third Team and selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team honoree.
Transitioning into the indoor season was seamless for Hoffman, who blazed her way to a new personal record in a deep field during the 400-meter dash.
Hoffman ran a 59.50 in the 400, beating out runners from host Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky, Belmont, Murray State and Austin Peay. Her first time of the new season was on the cusp of being a top-five performance all-time in the G-MAC, coming close to Nicole Burlinson's (Ursuline) 59.45 last year.
She also ran the first leg for the 4x400-meter relay group that clocked a 4:13.79 with Danielle March, Lindsey Hubbard and Jackie Sendewicz.
TNU returns to Vanderbilt in the new calendar year to compete at the Commodore Invitational on Friday/Saturday, Jan. 15-16, in Nashville.
