GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville senior forward Connor Gilmour added another award to an already extensive list, receiving National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-American accolades this week.
Gilmour was named to the NSCAA All-American Third Team after also being named the G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season.
UPDATE: Gilmour was also named a Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) Division II Third Team All-American as of December 9.
Additionally, Gilmour racked up NSCAA All-Midwest Region First Team honors and Conference Commissioner’s Association (CCA) Division All-Midwest First Team recognition.
This represents the first NSCAA All-American honor for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference student-athlete since the league’s first season in 2012.
Gilmour helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a historic postseason run that included a win in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Championship Midwest Regional.
His resume for the 2015 campaign included a conference-best total in points (37), goals (17), goals per game (0.81), points per game (1.76), game-winning goals (6) and total shots (67). His three assists were tied for seventh in the league.
From 2013-15 with Cedarville in the G-MAC in 61 total games, Gilmour is the conference career leader in points scored (97), goals (43), shots (208) and shots on goal (108).
He has 14 game-winning goals, tied for the all-time lead with James Pucci of Davis & Elkins (2013-14).
Cedarville finished 15-4-2 overall and 10-2-0 in the G-MAC this fall. The Yellow Jackets stormed their way to the regular-season title and conference tournament crown in the postseason.
