GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville sophomore guard Abby Wolford was named the sixth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for 2015-16 on Monday. 
 
Wolford and the Yellow Jackets toppled Urbana to begin the week and enjoyed a two-game stint in Alaska against No. 5 Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Fairbanks.
 
A career-high point total and a spot on the Alaska Anchorage Seawolf Hoops Classic all-tournament team highlighted the week for Wolford.
 
Cedarville improved to 7-4 on the season as Wolford would average 14.7 points per game.
 
In a 32-point margin of victory against Urbana, Wolford contributed 10 points, three rebounds and a pair of assists.
 
The fifth-ranked and host Seawolves lived up to their billing as one of the nation’s best. Wolford led the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 13 points and added two more assists in 27 minutes.
 
She saved her best for last this week against Alaska Fairbanks with a new career-best point total of 21. She was 6-of-14 on all shots and made eight of nine tries at the free-throw line.
 
In nine games this year, Wolford is averaging a team-best 11.6 points per game. She has made 16 three-point field goals and is shooting 80 percent on free throws.
