Kentucky Wesleyan Breaks Into Top 25 of NABC Coaches Poll

12.16.15

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A red-hot Kentucky Wesleyan men’s program broke through into the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Coaches Poll at No. 23 this week.

The Panthers were 8-1 overall (now 9-1) at the beginning of a new week and ripped through Fort Valley State for their sixth straight win.

It was the first time KWC has been in the NABC national rankings since early February of 2013.

The Panthers were one of five teams not ranked to break into the top 25 (Eckerd, Lake Superior State, Northwest Missouri State, Saint Anselm).

Next up for KWC on Sunday is an afternoon matchup at Northwood (Mich.).

The Panthers have built up their non-conference resume with a 4-0 record so far against the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) having beaten Wayne State, Tiffin, Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech.

The 9-1 start to the season represents the best opening to a G-MAC men's basketball season in the league's history.

Kentucky Wesleyan is outscoring its opponents by more than 15 points per game and have four players averaging double-digit scoring, led by Ken-Jah Bosley's 18.6 points per game.

In the D2SIDA Media Poll also released this week, KWC was ranked eighth (of 10) in the Midwest Region.
