GREENWOOD, Ind. – Seven student-athletes from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference helped comprise the new Conference Commissioner’s Association (CCA) Division II All-Midwest Region Women’s Soccer Team released on Monday.
A total of 26 players from the G-MAC, Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) made up a first and second team.
The CCA Player of the Year award and all-region teams are nominated and selected through voting by the region’s sports information directors.
Headlining the CCA Division II All-Midwest Region First Team were G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year Katrina Giantsopoulos and G-MAC Defensive Player of the Year Taylor Morton, both from Davis & Elkins.
Additionally, NCAA Championship Midwest Region qualifier Cedarville landed three second-team selections (Jacoby Ziegler, Grace Miorelli, Carly Gregory) while Ursuline was rewarded with a pair of second-team honorees (Vanessa Consiglio, Cassie Cripe).
The 13 first team all-region players will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration. The All-America teams will be released Wednesday, Dec. 3.
