G-MAC Women’s Golf Athlete of the Month (October)

11.3.15

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Trevecca Nazarene junior Alexa Rippy was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Athlete of the Month for October on Tuesday.

Rippy was also the G-MAC Women’s Golf Athlete of the Month for September as she continued a torrid start to the 2015-16 year.

She was at it again on the links, this time reeling in individual medalist honors at two different events within Tennessee.

The Trojans competed at the Trevecca Nazarene-hosted and weather-shortened TNU Invitational and the Tusculum Invitational in October.

In one round at the TNU Invitational, Rippy shot a 75 (+3) as the field forged through inclement weather conditions at the Old Hickory Country Club.

The Trojans finished first as a team by a three-stroke margin with a one-day total of 318.

In Greenville at the Tusculum Invitational, Rippy shot a new G-MAC record and a blistering 71 (-1) in first-round play at the Nolichucky View Golf Course.

The under-par 71 betters a 72 shot by Rippy and two rounds of 72 pieced together by teammate Kaylon King.

Her two-day total of 146 (+4) placed her first by one stroke against Tusculum’s Ciara Rattana.

The Trojans officially concluded the fall season and will prepare to defend its 2015 G-MAC Championship team title yet again this upcoming spring.
