AUSTIN, Texas – Four student-athletes from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference were honored to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® Division II Men's and Women's soccer teams on Monday.

The professional organization announced Cedarville’s Connor Gilmour and Jared Newman each earned honors on the men’s side.

Trevecca Nazarene’s Anna Hoffman and Cedarville’s Jacoby Ziegler were named on the women’s side.

The CoSIDA Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2015-16 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.

All four G-MAC soccer student-athletes were tabbed to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team in late October.

Gilmour and Newman helped pilot Cedarville to a historic run in the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional as an at-large selection.

The fourth-seeded Yellow Jackets were the first men’s conference team to compete in the national tournament and won their opening-round matchup against No. 5 Quincy.

Despite a tough loss to top seed Rockhurst in the second round, the Yellow Jackets finished 15-4-2 overall and ran the table in the G-MAC with a 10-2-0 record. CU also won its second straight conference tournament title.

Gilmour was the G-MAC’s Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season with 17 goals and three assists. Newman started all possible 21 contests and finished with a goal and an assist.

Gilmour was a CoSIDA Academic All-America® Second-Team selection while Newman earned third-team honors. Newman has a 3.95 GPA in electrical engineering while Gilmour is majoring in environmental science with a 3.47 GPA.

For the women, Ziegler CoSIDA Academic All-America® Second-Team selection and Hoffman landed third-team accolades. Ziegler is a repeat honoree after also earning first-team honors in 2013.

Ziegler has compiled a 3.72 GPA in nursing and Hoffman has excelled while pursuing her degree in education with a 3.89 GPA.

Both Ziegler and Hoffman were first-team all-conference selections this fall. Ziegler logged 19 goals and eight assists while Hoffman guided the Trojans with 13 scores and two helpers.
