NSCAA/NCAA Division II Men's Soccer National Poll - Oct. 6
NSCAA/NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Midwest Regional - Oct. 6
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Alderson Broaddus landed a ranking of No. 16 in the new National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/NCAA Division II Top-25 Poll that was released Tuesday.
The Battlers officially bypassed the ‘receiving votes’ category and landed the program’s best-ever ranking since joining NCAA Division II.
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has had two men’s soccer teams in the national rankings this fall after Cedarville earned a billing of No. 24 last week.
Alderson Broaddus (8-1-1, 5-1-1 G-MAC) beat No. 24 Cedarville, 4-2, in a conference matchup that tied the Battlers at the top of the G-MAC standings with the Yellow Jackets.
The Battlers also took down Davis & Elkins earlier in the week -- both AB wins coming on the road.
AB sophomore forward Marco Profumo had a goal and an assist on his way to G-MAC Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week status.
The league’s double round-robin schedule format has AB and Cedarville again facing off this weekend in Philippi on Saturday.
The Battlers are also gearing up for an in-state showdown tomorrow night against No. 5 Charleston after the Golden Eagles were dethroned from the top ranking in the country following a loss to Wheeling Jesuit.
Alderson Broaddus is No. 2 and Cedarville came in at No. 6 while Ohio Valley broke in at No. 10 in the NSCAA Midwest Region rankings. Salem International was ranked at No. 8 in the last Midwest region ranking.
