GREENWOOD, Ind. - Cedarville’s Jacoby Ziegler and Trevecca Nazarene’s Anna Hoffman received 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team honors on Thursday.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Ziegler and Hoffman are getting ready to face each other in the postseason on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets host the Trojans in G-MAC Women’s Soccer Championship quarterfinal action.
Ziegler currently has a 3.72 GPA in nursing while Hoffman has a GPA of 3.89 while majoring in education.
The Academic All-District™ teams include the student-athletes listed on the pages above and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
This is the fifth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA recognizes four teams - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-District™ Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
Previously, CoSIDA recognized a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I); with the four teams, CoSIDA has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored.
The Division II and Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2015-16 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.
First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
