INDIANAPOLIS – Davis & Elkins and Cedarville both retained a spot in the updated NCAA DII Women’s Soccer Midwest Region Rankings released on Wednesday.
Davis & Elkins, the G-MAC’s fall regular-season champion, came in at No. 9 while Cedarville settled at No. 10 in the second set of rankings.
Last week, D&E was at No. 10 and Cedarville debuted at No. 8.
Davis & Elkins finished the regular season by winning 11 of its last 12. The Senators will host the G-MAC Championship semifinals and final in Elkins, W.Va., as the No. 1 seed.
D&E beat G-MAC runner-up Kentucky Wesleyan, 5-0, to clinch the league’s regular-season crown and emerged in double overtime to beat Alderson Broaddus on the road.
Davis & Elkins ended the regular season with six consecutive road contests. The Senators will await the winner of Cedarville and Trevecca Nazarene for a semifinal match next Thursday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. EST.
D&E enters the postseason with a 14-3-0 overall record (12-2-0 G-MAC) while Cedarville starts the tourney with a 10-4-4 overall mark (7-3-4 G-MAC) as the No. 4 seed.
Cedarville took care of business against Salem International and Ohio Valley for respective regular-season sweeps to conclude the regular season.
The Yellow Jackets host Trevecca Nazarene this Saturday in one of two quarterfinals going on around the G-MAC.
