NABC DII Preseason Coaches Poll - Oct. 27 (PDF)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Two Great Midwest Athletic Conference schools received votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Preseason Coaches Poll released Tuesday.
Two-time G-MAC champion Alderson Broaddus received 24 votes while last year’s conference runner-up Kentucky Wesleyan also garnered attention with five total votes.
Only five schools were above Alderson Broaddus in the ‘others receiving votes’ category: Missouri Southern, Delta State, Florida Southern, Bowie State and Fairmont State.
The Battlers of AB and Panthers of KWC were also picked as the preseason No. 1 and 2 in the G-MAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
Alderson Broaddus finished the 2014-15 campaign with a 22-7 overall record while Kentucky Wesleyan was 22-8. AB edged KWC in a thrilling G-MAC Championship final at Rex Pyles Arena in Philippi, W.Va.
A total of 65 schools across the country received at least one vote in the preseason coaches poll.
Following this weekend’s CCA Tip-Off Classic in Anaheim, the regular season will tip off across the nation on Friday, Nov. 13.
The first NABC DII regular-season poll will be released on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
