GREENWOOD, Ind. – Davis & Elkins junior midfielder Kaitlyn Buoni was named the sixth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for the fall on Monday. 

Buoni and the red-hot Senators (9-2-0, 8-1-0 G-MAC) pieced together an impressive body of work, blanking both Cedarville and Ursuline to move into the top of the league standings.
 
Davis & Elkins has pitched five consecutive shutouts as a team in a streak that began back on Sept. 24 against Salem International.
 
Since then, the Senators haven’t allowed a goal in 450 minutes with Ohio Valley, Alderson Broaddus, Cedarville and Ursuline, all falling victim in a scoreless sheet.
 
The Senators took the wind out of then-league leading Ursuline’s sails, as Buoni stunned the Arrows with a goal just 28 seconds into the game.
 
It marked her 11th goal of the fall and the Senators outshot Ursuline, 15-9, to avenge a defeat in Pepper Pike -- D&E’s lone loss of the season.
 
Buoni ranks fourth in the G-MAC in goals (11) and fifth in points (24). She also has a pair of assists this season.
 
D&E will look to sustain its winning ways this week against Pitt-Johnstown, Ohio Valley and Salem International.
