GREENWOOD, Ind. - Sharmaine Baker has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week to start the new year. Baker helped Davis & Elkins to a G-MAC victory, helping them remain undefeated in conference and in a four-way tie atop the standings.

Sharmaine Baker has been named the G-MAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week to start the new year, which included a conference win over Salem International. Baker helped guide the Senators to a 75-60 win over the Tigers on the road.
Baker scored a game-high 28 points on an impressive 13-19 shooting from the field. Her 13 made field goals was five more than any other game this season, six more than she made in her 36 point game to open the season. In her last two games, Baker has now shot a combined 21-30 from the field, scoring 52 points.
Against Salem, she added eight rebounds, two assists and a steal in just 26 minutes played. On the season, Baker is now averaging 19 points a game, which moves her into second in the G-MAC, and 7.2 rebounds, which ranks third in the G-MAC.
