GREENWOOD, Ind. - Alderson Broaddus junior Rachel Ashley has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week after a dominating performance against Ursuline this weekend in conference action.

Rachel Ashley has been named the G-MAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week after leading her Battler team to a conference win over Ursuline on Saturday at home.
In the team’s only game this past weekend, Ashley went 14-19 from the floor to score a game-high 32 points, which was her season and career-high. She also posted a double-double as she added 10 rebounds. She wasn’t done there, as the guard/forward combo player recorded seven assists and five steals.
Playing only one contest her totals were also her averages, and those averages ranked first in points, assists and steals. She was tied for sixth in rebounding. Her shooting performance of 73.7% from the floor ranked fourth overall, but the top three totaled 18 total shots over four games played, while Ashley had 19 total in one contest.
Ashley climbed six spots in the scoring leader rankings, moving from 10.3 points per game to 11.7 with her 32 point performance. She also moved into the top ten in rebounding with 6.5 per game. She is shooting 45% from the floor, which is sixth in the league and is closing in on the top ten in assists, ranking 12th with 2.4 per game.
In games against G-MAC opponents, Ashley now ranks sixth in scoring with 14 ppg, third in shooting at 56%, tenth in assists with 2.8 per game, and 14th in rebounding with 6.7 a contest.
