GREENWOOD, Ind. - Trevecca University outside hitter/middle blocker Katelyn Atkinson has been picked as the first G-MAC Volleyball Player of the Week following impressive balanced numbers across the board in four matches.
 
The Trojans opened the year at the Alabama-Huntsville-hosted Marriott Classic with Atkinson making her presence felt along the front line. The 2013 G-MAC Freshman of the Year compiled 61 kills in just 14 sets, including 24 kills against Alabama-Huntsville to conclude the weekend.
 
She had nine digs in back-to-back matches and slugged 13 kills with a .476 hitting percentage in her season-opening effort as the team swept Miles College. She posted a double-double with 15 kills and Southwest Baptist University on Friday.
 
Early in the year to date, Atkinson is averaging almost 4.5 kills per set.
